Foundation concreting in Vilnius
We pour foundation concrete for detached houses in Vilnius and Vilnius district — for strip, pile, CFA and raft foundations. We select the concrete grade according to the design, install reinforcement, pour concrete and prepare for subsequent construction work.

What is foundation concreting?
Foundation concreting is the pouring of a concrete mix into prepared formwork or boreholes containing a reinforcement cage. It is one of the stages of foundation installation in Vilnius — the quality of concreting determines the foundations' load-bearing capacity, moisture resistance and how smoothly subsequent wall, floor and roof work will proceed.
Concreting is more than just pouring. The right concrete grade, evenly distributed reinforcement, thorough vibration and proper care after pouring determine whether the foundations will last for decades or develop cracks after a few years.
Which concrete grade should you choose for foundations?
Concrete grades are designated by two numbers (e.g. C20/25), which indicate compressive strength. The appropriate grade for foundations is specified in the design, taking loads and ground conditions into account.
For lightly loaded bases
Used for levelling layers and lightly loaded structures. Generally unsuitable as a standalone grade for the main foundations of a private house.
Standard house foundations
The most commonly used grade for strip and raft foundations of detached houses under standard ground conditions.
For heavier loads
Selected for more challenging ground conditions, heavier loads or pile and CFA foundations where greater strength is required.
How does foundation concreting work?
Preparing formwork or boreholes
Formwork for strip or raft foundations is installed, or boreholes for pile and CFA foundations are drilled, according to the design.
Installing the reinforcement cage
The reinforcement cage is installed using the diameters and spacing specified in the design — reinforcement gives concrete tensile strength.
Pouring concrete
Concrete is poured evenly in layers, avoiding interruptions to create a continuous structure without cold joints.
Vibration and compaction
Vibration removes air voids and ensures that concrete surrounds the reinforcement evenly.
Curing and hardening
Fresh concrete is protected from drying too quickly, rain and frost until it reaches the strength required for subsequent work.
Concreting by foundation type
Strip foundations
Concrete is poured into continuous formwork beneath all load-bearing walls. It is important to fill the entire length of the strip evenly without interruptions.
Pile / CFA foundations
With CFA technology, concrete is delivered directly into the borehole as the drilling equipment is withdrawn, after which reinforcement is lowered into the fresh concrete. For conventional bored piles, concrete is poured after the reinforcement is lowered.
Raft foundations
A continuous slab is poured across the entire footprint of the house, often with integrated insulation and an underfloor heating system beneath the concrete.
Foundation concreting cost in Vilnius
The cost of foundation concreting depends on the foundation type, concrete grade, amount of reinforcement, equipment access and ground conditions. Market prices for foundation pouring typically range from 120 to 420 €/m³, including labour and materials. An exact estimate is prepared based on the design.

When is the best time to concrete foundations?
The optimal air temperature for concreting is from +5 to +30°C. Lower or higher temperatures do not mean concreting is impossible, but additional measures are required.
A suitable time
It is important to monitor night frosts in April–early May.
Faster drying
On hot days, concrete dries faster — additional care and watering are required.
Precipitation
The weather forecast must be monitored and fresh concrete protected from rain in good time.
Admixtures required
Concreting requires frost-resistant admixtures or heating — this increases the cost of the work.
Common mistakes when concreting foundations
Concreting in severe frost without admixtures — concrete strength is reduced and cracks may appear.
Insufficient vibration — air voids form, reducing the strength of the structure.
Failing to protect fresh concrete from rain or drying too quickly.
Choosing an unsuitable concrete grade for the loads or ground conditions.
Starting subsequent work too early, before the concrete has reached the required strength.
Why entrust concreting to a full-service contractor?
Concreting mistakes are not always noticeable on the same day. Poorly compacted concrete, an incorrect concrete grade or incorrect levels become apparent later — when building walls, installing floors or coordinating insulation details.
When the same contractor concretes the foundations and carries out subsequent work, responsibility for the entire process is clear from day one. NamStatyba.lt carries out foundation concreting, followed by masonry, roofing, facade and interior finishing work in Vilnius and Vilnius district.

Frequently asked questions about concreting
Foundation concreting is the pouring of a concrete mix into prepared formwork or boreholes containing a reinforcement cage. It is one of the stages of foundation installation that determines the foundations' load-bearing capacity and durability.
The estimated cost depends on the foundation type and ranges from approximately 120 to 420 €/m³, including labour and materials. The exact cost is calculated based on the design, ground conditions and concrete grade.
This depends on the foundation type — strip foundations generally require less concrete than raft or pile foundations. The exact volume is shown by the calculator above or the foundation design.
C20/25 or C25/30 is most commonly used for private houses, depending on loads and ground conditions. The exact grade is specified in the design or by the structural engineer.
The optimal air temperature for concreting is from +5 to +30°C. Concreting is possible during the cold season using frost-resistant admixtures or heating, but this increases the cost of the work.
Initial hardening takes place within a few days, but concrete reaches full strength in approximately 28 days. Subsequent work usually starts after a few days, depending on weather conditions and the concrete grade.
For strip foundations, concrete is poured into continuous formwork beneath the walls, while for pile foundations it is poured into boreholes, followed by forming a ground beam that connects the piles into a single structure.
It is possible, but it is safer when concreting and the entire foundation installation are carried out by the same contractor — this makes responsibility for levels, geometry and concrete quality clearer.
